As I've been redecorating the house these past few weeks I haven't had much time for painting but I did get a few things which I would like to share with you. First up ,something I have been longing to try for a while now, an order from Shape ways arrived www.shapeways.com/model/448409/15mm-jetpack-style-1.htmlwww.shapeways.com/model/506638/15mm-pack-mounted-weapons.htmlI have some rather mixed feelings about this batch, the detail is good, I didn't have to wait to long for them to arrive but if you look at the jet packs you'll notice that about 6 of them are missing the top part. for the rather steep price I paid for them I think that's unacceptable and will send them an email and see what they say. Next we finally got our version of pound land / dollar store and when I paid them a visit I found these I've doodled around some with the comm. vehicle to convert it to a grav drive, what do you think? I'm thinking of using them together with some of these www.rebelminis.com/eafoin.htmlto build a starting force for a friend off mine.

I really like the angle you used for the grav drives. I would have had them all pointing the same way but your decision to zig-zag them is inspired. Much more visually interesting. Congrats on a good find and a better conversion.

Got some paint onto the gruntz for this force, one yellow and one red team. I'm thinking off doing squad attachments with a heavy plasma rifle backpack ,a commander with a jump pack and maybe a medic with a rucksack next. I was aiming for a Mass Effect style of armor as my buddy really likes that game.

Thanks, that's a relief, cause when I first saw the picture of the yellow squad I though to myself:" Oh no I painted my male figures like Borat!" ;D

Those jetpacks are awesome! It all looks good, but I am super impressed with your backpacks.

I stumbled across them on several 15mm miniatures blogs, everybody always kept saying how cool they looked and such but I never saw anyone use them so I decided to order some and try them out myself. If you are interested in ordering them I would advise you to select Frosted Ultra Detail as the material to print them in. It's the most expensive option but with such small pieces you really need the finest grain possible as it's almost impossible to clean up after wards.
