Stating the Black Manta Sub-Launcher

I bought a few of these for my alien army and am wondering what size class they should be. They're huge but somewhat spindly.

Just to give you an idea how big, the disc hull is 8cm wide by 7cm long by 2cm tall not counting the gun, while each leg is 9cm long.

What would you say?

Psyckosama I think you're getting your cm & mm mixed up as the sizes that you've given means that at best it's a 6mm mini, which I would love to get as alien robotic infantry for 15mm games, but I'm sure that this black manta sub-launcher is a fair bit bigger.

Oh and it sound like a heavy Mecha but possibly an assault all depends on what size everything else is in the force you are going to do. Looks like plasma weaponry for the main gun and them legs look good for a claw to stick straight thought a tank

Yeah. I got the CM and MM mixed up. It's pretty huge on the table compared to the infantry which are closer to 10mm tall than 15 (being little grey dudes and all)

With this force... maybe some light attack saucers and a bunch of foot infantry with plasma weapons.

These are going to be my armor.

Hm. How does this sound

Heavy Mecha
1 Anti-Infantry weapon
- a small, Light Plasma located in the base of the hull that marks "forward"
2 Main Weapons
- The Giant Heavy Plasma on top of the body
- A Heavy Vehicle power claw standing in for its ability to use its legs as a weapon.

I'm tempted to give it the transformation ability to represent that it has exotic alien anti-gravity engines... though in accordance with rules about no heavy weapons in flight, it doesn't have enough power for both Anti-gravity Generator and the the Plasma cannon at the same time.

For Modz I'm giving it Neutronic Damping to represent exotic alien deflector shield technology.

Though I wish I could give it more than one...

That sounds about right like the anti grav idea

It's almost designed for it really. There's a screw hole at the exact center of the base and the legs have a point of articulation. You fold up the legs, mount it on a flying base in the hole and you have a tripod in Hover Mode!

Not yet, but once I work up a couple bases for them I'll be sure to take pictures.

They were a limited run McDonnald's toy back in 2010. I had to buy mine off ebay so along the lines of availability, your chances are as good as mine. I just had to wait until there was a seller with a bulk supply so I didn't have to pay too much in the way of shipping fees.
