Has anyone come up with a system for stat-ing up customized weapons?
Gruntz does a pretty good job giving us variety, but with the huge variety of sci-fi death rays out there, a few specific areas are missed(short range, high AP. Long Range, low Damage, big AoE, etc).
Any advice for increasing weapon variety (outside of Perkz, which we already use quite extensively) would be appreciated.

Im liking the way your going with those stats Tim how do you sort the points cost for the weapons We Usually will Play Scenario Driven Games with Clearly Defined Objectives & Very Rarely Use the Points. Some Examples of the Missions We Have Played Include A Withdrawal Under Fire, Special Forces Material Acquisition & Recovery, Bug Attack, Hold Until Relieved, Bug Hunt & Data Recovery, Feint & Withdraw, finally a Convoy Escort to Name A Few. Looking At the Weapons Chart the Following Should be 1 Point + or - Range 2" Dam 1 AP 1 AE 2" In Addition Squinch & I Use Advanced Ranges as Part of our House Rule See the Link. gruntz15.proboards.com/thread/1150/advanced-range?page=2

Rather than creating a new thread, I thought it better to mildly necro this one.
I am interested in coming up with a way to depict shorter range, higher damage vehicle mounted infantry support weapons like the short 75mm gun used on early model Panzer IVs, Stugs and late model Panzer IIIs. Plasma comes close but I would rather swap the AP for AE radius.
One thought is a reverse Gravatonic Accelerator Mod that removes 3" of range and 2 AP and adds 2" of AE.
Your thoughts?
