Inspired by this article here deltavector.blogspot.be/2013/08/cheap-nasty-scratchbuilt-terrain-30.htmlI decided it was high time I started building myself a 15mm city board. Here's the first building , I'm hopeing to get some paint on it over the weekend. This is a shot with an other type of storage crate that I'm looking to convert into a building. All in all I bought 4 of the folding crates plus the little cabinet for € 7.69 for the lot, this may turn out to be one of my cheapest builds yet :-)

Finished the first building. I decided to go for a slightly more cartoony look, I just like a table with lots of color on it ;-)

Wow... those look great! Love the fact that you can open it up and show the fighting going on in there, or use it to store your minis too! Really excellent. Consider the idea stolen!

They are coming along nicely! If it's any help, I made my streets with 300x300mm cork board with footways made from vinyl floor tiles (from Poundland). Material cost was about £20.

I'll probably do something similar, your exelent cityboard was what made me realise I needed one after all ;-) The materials used will be different though as, believe it or not, both cork and vinyl tiles are impossible to find over here in Belgium

That looks excellent. I'll have to try and keep my eye out for some of those.

Great idea to use the Cork tiles with Vinyl for the pavement. I have been nutting out different ways in my head to do something similar. Thanks for sharing your terrain. Now I have a few more ideas to work on p.s. I know it is an old topic but well worth commenting after a big light bulb went off in my head after seeing this thread
