Those are awesome gun turrets, although it kinda reminded me of this:

LOL, reminds me of the foolproof instructions for sculpting an elephant
Get a large stone block
Chip away everything that doesn't look like an elephant

Haven't laughed that hard for ages! Look to the Tutorial section for a "proper" guide.

Thought I'd snap a couple of shots of my new Artillery before I start painting it. The missile launcher is essentially a larger version of the one in the weapon mount tutorial. The original vehicle (pictured on the previous page) was the first diecast conversion I did, so was pretty basic in comparison.

Thanks guys. In truth, probably got a little carried away with the number of builds - somehow forgot vehicle points aren't halved like Gruntz At least I'll have plenty of extras for larger participation games etc. I did start work on painting my command vehicle last night. Once I've got all the main bodies done, I'll tackle the wheels. Washed the decals with a very diluted dark brown to tone them down - looking at them now, they need another wash. For those interested: - Vallejo Brown Violet base coat.
- Add increasing amounts of Vallejo Dark Yellow for dry brushing.
- Vallejo German Camo Dark Brown sponged on as chips.
- Whole vehicle washed with Paines Grey and Burnt Sienna oils, diluted heavily with White Spirit. Once this is dry, mix in more Paines Grey and wash around hatches etc.
- Dark Yellow painted under some chips to give illusion of depth.
- Gloss varnish, Decals, Testor's Dullcote

wow, those are just some impressive builds. You are almost to the point where you might as well just start building your own masters and getting them molded up.
That's how I started sculpting. Conversions got progressively more extensive until I may as well have sculpted the figure from the ground up.

Very nice indeed. They look super chunky cool.
Also still really liking the way you paint them with that mottled green.

Cheers I'm looking forward to painting up a few more and getting them on the table. We move house in just under a month and my paints are all packed - really should have thought that one out Have thought about knocking up some masters. Maybe once we're settled in the new place, I'll sit down and nut out some designs. I had an absolute ball converting the $2 shop ones.

Finally set up a makeshift painting desk in the new house a few days ago. That was the easy part, finding where the hell i packed my paints was another. As I frustratingly ripped open the umpteenth box with no luck, I could hear my wife's voice, "Don't forget to write on every box what's inside". That only slows down the packing, I thought! Anyway, I eventually found most of my modelling stuff and some unpainted GZG DPRG, so I thought I'd play around with some more plasticard. I ended up with an AT gun and a gunner who paints the target for the gun to fire upon - my guys aren't heavy on advanced tech. They don't get that many merc contracts. and the painted model, minus the final varnish so the gun is a tad shiny. I converted a figure up as a medic while I had the plasticard out. Hope you like.
