I wanted to take a moment and talk about the "Alternating Activation" gaming that we will be useing at the event because it became clear that the definition differs a little from group to group so here is the style I suggest being used:

- Players roll for initiative
- Winning player activates a unit first.
- After winning player is done with the activated unit, the opponent activates a unit.
- After that unit is finished it's activation, the winning player activates a second unit.
- After that unit is finished the opponent activates another unit.
- This back-forth continues until all units on the table have been activated.
- Roll again for initiative and repeat the process.

This is different from the way many long time WH40K players may be used to. However, we feel that not only does this give a more realistic “living” feel to the battle, but it changes the strategic dynamic. Because decisions have to be made on the fly, it forces a broader strategic vision, and promotes risk taking on both sides of every action. This style of play also carries a high reward for risk, and still maintains a bit of the real life chaos of battle, where the X-factor is taken in the form of an initiative test. This style also speeds up play on average as decisions made are reduced to singular units, versus entire army wide decisions. All in all we feel that this method is a more enjoyable, faster, more strategic way of playing gruntz.

I would call that "Alternating Activation" from the optional rules on page 94.
It's good you cleared that up, (not that I'll be there in IN, as much as I'd like to) because I think of Igo-Ugo as "I play all my units, you play all your units"
How the errata coming?

The errata is coming along well. With hope it will be finished by the end of the weekend so long as there is a little time to play test. All but 1-2 perks and mods that were ambiguous have been clarified.
Our biggest change so far is to the "Gatling" weapon rule. In a play test, that 6 points (I believe) took down almost 48 points in one shot. It's so super powered that there really isn't a reason to take any other kind of weapon on a vehicle with the weapon as is. The other thing we have to take a stance on is the Ack Ack mod, and that one is more less finalized but is pending some play testing.

Also cleaned up the first post a bit, make it feel a little less cluttered.
Also, because we are custom sculpting and casting the event terrain piece, as well as burning the CD's with the custom card and forum badge and anything else we are able to give out for free, we need to have a number in mind as to how many pieces to cast/cd's to burn/etc.
If you are attending, please register so we get enough swag so you can receive these rewards!

ERRATA UPDATE: We're still plugging away at this. I play-tested much of the errata as we have set over the weekend and so far things are going smooth! Mothers day put all of us a little behind, but we still plan on releasing the errata any time between today and wed.

Sunspear, we will be there all day, please at least come by and introduce yourself! I live in Northwest Indiana so this is a 2.5 hour drive and would love meet as many of you as possible as I won't be around to play as much as the others.

A molten wind sweeps across the arid alkali waste land that is the planet Sikara. Like a wisp of hair on a gentle breeze, a sandturner hunts it's prey. It's long, plated, serpentine body, rolls and tumbles in carelessly wind that would melt a mans flesh. When it finally spots a hint of movement beneath the sand it strikes, the sandturner's long barbed toung lashes out like a whip, striking the beetle's center and pulling it into an open maw. To heavy to continue rolling, the sand turner settles itself down to eat it's meal whole.
It never sees the meteorite, it's eyes are close as it tries to devour the large beetle. It never hears itas it has no ears, ironically, to protect it. In an instant faster than a blink the sandturner and it's prize are turned to radioactive vapor as the asteroid the size of a large space cruiser slams down upon it.
The planet reverberates from the impact for two full days, and in those days, there is not but the sound of searing winds, and shifting sand. Perhaps it was the heat, perhaps it was the radiation of the stone, but as the dust of the impact died, life began to blossom on Sikara. At first thick, hearty grasses began to grow, then shrubs and tress. The wind began to slow, and the sky began to shift color. Only the area around the stone stayed sandy and dead. within a year the planet was a lush world ripe for the taking. But as the plants grew so did the meteorite. Like a tree itself, long crystal spires began to inch their way towards the planet core, and those spires grew spires, and so on. The landscape is now a paradise of foliage, with the stark evil looking mirror like obelisks of meteorite that seem to spring up every night, killing the land around them.
When Geological crews discovered the stone, readings indicated that this mineral, whatever it may be, vibrated at a frequency, that if harnessed, could generate enough power for an entire mega city with only fifteen ounces. However, the planet falls directly in "claimable space". Any faction can claim it, and many will try. Only one can control the mineral, and whoever does promises their people wealth and prosperity of a monopoly unlike the universe has ever seen.
