I have a blog that I only just started (yea, big deal, I know), but on it, it's allowed me to journal some of my new 15mm work that I'll be doing. This is my link to a conversion I am in the middle of and needing inspiration for, with regards to an old Heavy Gear Mammoth strider that I am going to use for Gruntz. Check it out here: kealios.blogspot.com/2011/10/adventures-in-15mm-conversions.html

Goodluck in your quest for the missing pieces and keep us posted. Fun to see you also come from an RPG kind of background into 15mm. I'll be using my blog for a similar purpose allthough progress for me tend to be slow due distractions like work and other hobbies.

Try the DP9 forums. They have a very active bits trading thread where you may well be able to score a set of mammoth weapons. You might even be able to buy a set of the new resin ones directly for their mail order, they seem to be quite willing to sell parts on request.

I hadn't thought to go to DP 9 directly, since they changed scales (therefore I made the assumption that the parts I need wouldn't be available).
One thing that dawned on me is that a 40K dreadnought's arms might work. I will look into that when I get home this afternoon.

Yeah, I think all the HO scale stuff was made by RAFM. One of the missile pods off of a Whirlwind tank may work for the one arm.

For that matter, a Thunderfire cannon would be cool too...but no way I can get these parts without buying some expensive GW stuff and ripping them off...hmm.

U would be better off trying to do it by yourself, green stuff, foam core, plasticard, whatever. Believe me its not as hard, I never made conversions and yet was able to fix a miniature. Use both gatlin's (cut the guns out only) find a bit of tube or something (pen?) and make an arm just like on picture. You can cut toothpicks glue them to shoulder with green stuff layer, and it would look like a missiles sticking out.
Unless you'll find an arm like in the original, nothing will look right, cause of how massive the miniature is.

Hilarious side note: I was searching through my craft room, looking for a tub of material I use to base models, and I found the missing Mammoth arms! Well, I found the two weapons and one shoulder. Kind of funny, really. I think I will still go with Dreadnought arms if I can secure them, but I had a good chuckle.

I found some replacement weapons! I got both an autocannon and a close combat dreadnought arm from a friend. A few minor tweaks and modifications and I will be ready for more pics!

I agree they do look good both have there appeal but I'm the other way round I like the feathered appearance of the sprayed ones even if they are a bit darker but not much in it between them
