HI!
I know there are lots of text here, but PLEASE read it and answer.
Maybe some of you know my cards I made for you.
Because I am waiting of V1.1 I am not doing any new cards, but after V1.1 release I'll add points to all of my cards and remade some stats. Now that brings me to serious decision.
My old idea for Shooting/Assault stats was this:
2 - Green - Civilians with no weapon skils
3 - Trained - Bandits, Civilians with weapon skills
4 - Seasoned - Cops, Militia, Colonial Security, rectuits
5 - Vetertan - All professional soldiers
6 - Expert
7 - Elite
And my idea for Soak:
10 - None - figures with ordinary clothes and 18-20 century troopers.
11 - Scout - Sahadeens, Sharkmen from Khurasan
12 - Light, Rebel Minis Earth Force marines
13 - Medium - HALO Spartans, GZG New Israeli, Rebel Minis Titan Marines, ie full body armor
14 - Heavy - analogs of 40K Space Marines
15- Assault - analogs of 40K Terminators
BUT you may think why I am writing all these? The matter is after reading this topic gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=377 with cards of Snowy, I found that he have different idea about stats.
He use 4 (Seasoned) for shoting of most regulars, and 3 (Trained) for poor trops like Cultists. Also his regular human troops and robots have 3 (Trained) for melee, and more primal troops with more strenght like Guln Horse have 4 (Seasoned) for melee. His Guard/Soak idea is close to mine.
So my question is do you want these changes on my cards after 1.1 or not?
If YES, I'll use my old idea about armor (Soak), but with new Snowys inspired shoot and melee ideas.
New shooting will be:
2 - Green - Civilians without weapon skils
3 - Trained - Bandits, Cultists Cops, Militia, Colonial Security, Recruits
4 - Seasoned - All professional soldiers
5 - Vetertan - SWAT, Marines, Spetsnaz, SAS
6 - Expert - some snipers
7 - Elite
And Melee
2 - Green - poor melee skill. Civilians, Cultists, bandits.
3 - Trained - trops with assault rifles and other humans.
4 - Seasoned - Orcs, Gulns, Grenadier Guards or soldiers with better strenght that ordinary human
5 - Vetertan - Xenomorps, Tyranids.
6 - Expert - some huge beasts
7 - Elite - giant creatures
Here are my cards. I'll remade them after V1.1
Sectoids gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=272
Tyranid Rippers gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=258
Earth Force Matines gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=176
Sahadeens gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=177
Modern US gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=152&page=1
Terminators gruntz15.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles&action=display&thread=123
I see that different gamers have different idea for usage of stats,
so lets vote for universal usage of stats.
So MY VOTE is for 2: "Snowy idea", because I liked Snowy idea more than mine, because I think 4 for shooting and 3 for melee of humans and 4 for shooting and 3 for melee of orcs/guln and 5 for melee of Xenomorphs and Tyranids better represents strenght of soldiers.
And in my solo games I found that if all regulars have 5-Veteran for shooting makes them a bit overpowered (its easy to roll 7 against 12 guard with 2D6 if enemy in the open. And if your squad was stationary it gives you +1 for shooting, so now its 6 against 12 Guard (3+ on 2 D6 dices))
