Now that the contest is over and my new daughter is all settled in I thought I'd start this thread to keep me motivated.

OK so here's were I left off after the contest
[image]
1 panzerwerfer, 2 squads of gruntz + SAW and flamethrower attachment and a command team.

Now on to the new stuff:
first up

This is the first of 2 recce specialists their job will be to spot for the artillery and provide additional fire support for my grunts.

Next
[image]
2 sniper teams

and last but not least
[image]
A panzerfaust team

To wrap it all up a picture of all the new arrivals together
[image]

Now I still need to finish 1 more recce, 2 half tracks, 1 or 2 more panzerwerfers and a command vehicle so stay tuned :D

Nice looking units there. I just ordered my starting forces. I hope they look half as good as yours do.

It looks like prepping for the painting was half the fun. I do enjoy cava.

Also, the miniatures look great.

Now that I've got my hands on some green stuff again ,so I could fill in some unsightly air bubbles ,I have finally been able to finish my little German's rides.
Two Old Crow half tracks, these were actually what convinced me to start a German sci fi force.

I had actually intended to weather them with some pigments that I bought but I got cold feet and chickened out as I've never used any before so if any of you now of any good tutorials let me know.
Oh yeah the pigments I bought were Vallejo Pigments Natural Sienna, Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber.

Lookin' sharp!

Where are the stowage pieces from (the packs on the side of vehicle 17 and on the front fenders of 18)?

Very nice and I like the weathering and details on those Old Crow. I wonder if we should start to think about a Summer Gruntz painting competition?

@222: the stowage is a set that comes with the FOW Vietnam M113 ACAV scout section box. I made a mold of them with instantmold and now when I need some stowage I just roll me up some little balls of greenstuf , push them in, ét voila!

@ comstar: don't worry mate I still have to do 1 more recce vehicle, 2 more panzerwerfers, a command vehicle and some assorted troops before I call this force finished and I do believe we started about the same time :-[

@ inrepose: the weathering was largely inspired by your videos so I'm glad you like it 8-).
I might be up for another painting competition, if only to motivate me to keep painting. Plus I love to see what other people come up with so I can steal their ideas. :)

I love those last halftracks. Great painted damage.

I, too, have been a little nervous to try the pigment route. Be sure to post here when you get the gumption. It might give me the push I need. ;)
